Looking at a New Season

Thursday evening marked the beginning of the football season for Valparaiso University and many other college teams across the nation. As I watched Valparaiso play at the University of North Dakota on television, I thought about how the commencement of the new academic year and the opening of collegiate athletics also represent a shift in the focus for my photography.

With the start of fall semester resulting in diminished time for nature walks and visits to the lake shore, as well as an increased opportunity for attending sporting events, I now move from taking mostly landscape images to shooting more sports photos. Indeed, for this reason I have developed separate sites for my two types of photography: Oak Grove Photography for an array of my nature scenes and Valpo Sports Photography for my pictures of various sports.

I invite viewers to browse both locations and check out the themed sets of photographs at each. Together, the pair of spots currently display more than 500 pictures.
