Beach Trees in Early June

Late spring is one of my favorite times of year to visit the beaches along Lake Michigan. Though the weather has warmed enough to create comfortable conditions, in early June the air and water temperatures are not usually at the level that invites many swimmers.

Therefore, I enjoy walking along the shore with views that continue to be clear of sunbathers or waders. In fact, since most local public schools do not close for summer vacation until after the month’s first week, many stretches of the lakefront remain empty and scenic, as can be seen in the accompanying photograph.
