Flooded Bridge Crossing

Flooded Bridge Crossing

Flooded Bridge Crossing

A few days ago, I mentioned the trip along a river trail I took last weekend to examine the expanse of flooding caused by an extended period of wet weather that has passed through the region in recent weeks. I reported how surprising it was to discover that the flooding encompassed much of the bordering woods or fields, and various sections of the trail also were submerged.

Consequently, I was frequently required to find alternate paths by climbing to higher ground and opening my own route through the undergrowth. As can be seen in the accompanying photo, at one point the water had overflowed the trail and isolated a bridge I usually cross.
