Old Farm Equipment in March

While visiting a local farm before hiking wooded hills nearby, I snapped the picture above. I wanted to record how the pieces of antique equipment filling this storage shed have weathered another winter and remain as reminders of times past.

Despite their rundown condition and the layers of rust on those objects in the photograph, I find a certain amount of compelling interest in the numerous shapes, assorted textures, and various tones represented within the image.  Indeed, although the afternoon was quite cold and remnants of snow could be witnessed everywhere, I also felt a sense of warmth as I thought of the many summer months of use these items must have seen over the years.
